Since we're on the subject...

A few of my own pieces.

Wood in Different Forms

Pencil and Architecture

Interior design and pencil drawings.  What a perfect day of an exploration of art.

My first stop was the central museum in Utrecht, Netherlands, where a brilliant man named Robbie Cornelissen showed his magnificent pencil work.  I have not showed any of you my artwork -which I should- but he has done exactly what I have always loved to do.  Pencil, charcoal, black and white, pen, etc is my love.  And he captures this work amazingly.  As someone who has worked with pencil, he is UNBELIEVABLE!  To see the lines he creates and the consistency he provides throughout his work is inspirational.  Not only is he consistent, his pieces are massive!  What an artist!

I love that his work also had something to do with interiors.  How funny.

My next stop was to Rietveld's Shroder house!  Which I was lucky enough to take a tour through.  It was amazing.

"I would rather fight with you than make love to anyone else"

My Parisian roommate just had be watch this wonderful movie -2 Days in Paris.  She says that this is exactly how the French see Americans and I can now say this is a good depiction of how we see French.  It is hilarious.

This is the final scene, so if you want to watch the movie and not have the end spoiled, DO NOT WATCH this first.  BUT  it is an amazing scene and if you do not want to sit through the whole thing, at least start it at 3:40.  It is love.

Oscar and his prints

It's no secret that Oscar de la Renta is amazing with prints.  But what I love love love is how he incorporated his prints with a 50's, modern-esque look on the runway this season, it's like he was calling to me!

These last two outfits look very Chanel-inspired, but I am LOVING the black shorts.  What an amazing way to dress up shorts for a Summer night on the town!
And speaking of Chanel, I love these pants that were seen on the most recent Chanel runway.  They bring femininity to the "boyfriend" look.  Also, I have been seeing pumps like these lately in pictures but cannot find them anywhere in stores!  I love the look of just the toe being covered with a straight horizontal line.  Any idea where I can find a pair??

My version of "Animal Print"

So, I have decided that animal rings are my new must accessory.  Here is a little handful (pun intended) of my new rings...yes, I know I went a little over board, but I am in love!

Unfortunately, none of these are my own pictures, because they are all waiting for me in California!

Hey People!

Just so you know, I am coming into the last 3 weeks of school in Amsterdam!  So, I will not be posting much, because I am swamped with school work and I am going to Croatia next weekend.  I was in Paris this past weekend and it was amazing.  I ate the best food, saw amazing sights, met wonderful people, and saw inspirational art!  I am going to San Diego on June 2nd, where I will be seeing as many people as possible within 5 days and then I am back to Chico!

I have been sketching out ideas for some new art and I cannot wait to get back to my Chico studio to paint.  I am hoping to finish a collection this summer and feature it around Chico.  I will keep you updated on that.

As for now, here are a few memories from my Paris trip and I will try not to be a stranger during this next month of mayhem!  Love you all!  XoXo
